With Manchester’s UFC 105 event in the books, attention now turns to Saturday’s “UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin II”
show in Las Vegas. To help promote this weekend’s show, which airs on Spike TV (two preliminary fights) and
pay-per-view (main card), Spike TV on Monday debuts “UFC 106 Countdown:Ortiz vs. Griffin II” on late Monday/early Tuesday at 12:30 a.m. ET/PT.
The 30-minute preview special focuses on the night’s headliner, which is a rematch between former light heavyweight champions
Tito Ortiz (15-6-1 MMA, 14-6-1 UFC) and Forrest Griffin (16-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC).
Ortiz, who returns to the UFC following an 18-month layoff due to contract issues and a back surgery, won the duo’s first meeting in
2006 at UFC 59 via split decision. The fight, which the judges scored 30-27, 28-29 and 29-27, marked Griffin’s first loss in the octagon.
